A renovation of the 230-room Crowne Plaza designed by Tremend, using more than 10,000 linear metres of Muraspec wallcoverings in rooms, corridors, conference rooms and the lobby.
Tremend was asked to renovate Crowne Plaza Budapest and shape its brand experience. Each space tells its own city-inspired story, for instance referencing the historic railway station built by Gustave Eiffel's company in the 19th century.
Walls and ceilings had to tie every area together while meeting strict fire ratings and the antimicrobial requirements behind IHG's cleanliness standards. In the lobby, vivid digital murals sit alongside the warm Strataflex Walnut wood finish; bedrooms, corridors and ceilings use muted textured wallcoverings for a more intimate feel.
More than 10,000 linear metres of Muraspec products were installed, most with an antimicrobial substrate. The project earned Tremend a Muse Design Award. Muraspec's Hungarian partner Cool Trade Hungary supported the client from concept to delivery, including colour matching.
