Hamburg's first new five-star hotel in 18 years, on the Alster lake, with AXOR Citterio E mixers and showers in Brushed Nickel.
The Fontenay sits by Lake Alster in the Rotherbaum district. Designed by Jan Störmer (Störmer Murphy and Partners), the building consists of three intertwined circular volumes totalling about 18,000 m², with a glazed courtyard and an atrium almost 30 metres high, a style often described as modern classic.
Interior designers Aukett + Heese chose Antonio Citterio's AXOR Citterio E collection for the bathrooms: wall-mounted two-hole mixers above the basins and Citterio E shower sets in the shower areas, set against light natural sandstone walls.
AXOR Signature and FinishPlus allowed the hotel to adapt products and unify the finish: all mixers and showers come in a hard-wearing PVD Brushed Nickel, which then became the recurring metal tone throughout rooms and public areas.
