An eco spa hotel designed by Matteo Thun, floored in AUSTRIAWOOD oak in four formats — Versailles modules, herringbone, Edeldiele planks and stairs — all in one Rubin colour.
MalisGarten's architectural concept is by Italian architect Matteo Thun. The hotel's identity rests on local timber, from facade to interiors, as part of its sustainability concept.
The wooden floor runs through the lobby, guest rooms and common areas. The architect chose oak in several formats: Versailles modules (980 × 980 mm) for focal areas, herringbone (90 × 780 mm) for suites, Edeldiele planks (100 × 1800–2400 mm) for the spa and other zones, and stair treads (100 × 2000 mm).
All four products share the Rubin (Fritztal) colour: three-layer construction with a 4 mm wear layer and 15 mm total thickness, Natural grading with dark brown filler, a brushed surface and four-sided bevel. Mixing formats this way highlighted specific areas and kept the project on budget.
